Bonjour amazing WOMEN! Coming to you live here at Womazing I am JoJo Fabs your FABULOUS local Hip-Hop supporter *laughs* and for the next few paragraphs let’s get to know each other. I’ll tell my story but you know what I also want to know yours. As a woman with ambition to achieve a dream that clearly is stuck in my head and to be honest with you, it is here to stay. Yes, you may wonder how can we face that if being in a man’s world is one challenge, but you know what this woman is going for it, and in full speed. But before all these juicy details let’s begin with this journey….*coughs* Mic check one two one two let me spit it for you.

Before knowing what the yin to my yang was I went through different changes of not knowing what path to take. In and out of career choices and none seem to fulfill me at that point it became extremely frustrating. I would always write to vent or just for inspiration, but of course kept it to myself, I felt, as it was irrelevant to the outside world especially being a woman. My friends and even teacher’s would tell me how unique it was and I should consider in pursuing more to it. I found it very illusive and crazy to imagine that my way of writing would impact or get anyone’s attention for that sort.

Now Hip Hop has always been in my life since I could remember, it became a genre of music that seriously took over my soul in the most innocent way; truly it was love at first hearing if there is such thing, but for me it does exist. I would memorize lyrics quicker than some vocabulary words for homework; seriously I’m pretty sure we all have that talent. Late 2010 I came across an idea of beginning a local website that would support the Local Hip Hop community, yes I know it was a crazy, a random girl of nowhere with a dream of supporting Hip Hop, but hey, I was willing to take chance.

I began to host events in Broward, FL then moved to the Miami area to work with Vice City Cyphers, started branding the site, writing reviews just building the website. It became JoJosBlock a site where real talent can be shown and where the true support is given just appreciating the craft. It wasn’t easy in the beginning, because like I mentioned a random girl, no one knew who I was, but I was willing to change that. Sharing my real thoughts of music in my own words, which felt so great to be able to show my talent no matter what others thought.

Every dream has its obstacles and situations that may put you down make you think twice of everything your doing. Being a woman especially in a scene where its really a man’s world, it’s a bit tough as your working to brand your website and the sole purpose of it, but as well the challenge you face to gain respect. Men would just think because I am a woman I may not have no idea of my surroundings or knowledge in Hip-Hop and I believe we get underestimated for what we know and what we bring to the table. For the past 2 years in half in my journey as a Local Hip Hop supporter/Writer I have learned so much and I am extremely thankful for it. Little did I know that JoJosBlock.com would become what it is today and what is in store for the future. I wouldn’t change one bit from it I love what I do and there is no better feeling then achieving that point in your life where you know WHO YOU ARE and what you are here for.

Sometimes we don’t have that inner strength to face a tough crowd or believe in ourselves that we ARE capable of doing what we want to do. So ladies don’t ever think that you are not able to achieve what you want because you will become your first obstacle. Go for it and maintain that positive outlook that no matter what happens you are a strong amazing woman. I followed a dream and it became true and here I am letting you know there is nothing wrong with a dream and fulfilling it.

I want to thank everyone that has supported me for the past years, to those who where there from the beginning of it all. To Womazing.com for keeping such a positive outlook for women and for wanting to share my story.
